Dear children,
it's your mother writing.
I don't know if I could meet you here in this world. If I were to die before meeting you, let us meet in His jannat. As a matter of fact, I haven't even met your father yet. And that also if he were to meet me, alive and thriving. Not dead. 'Cuz again, I'd meet you later in His jannat - inshaAllah.
It's just the opening and I know my letter to you sounds depressing, and you'd read more of it to the ending.
It's October 2024 and I live in a saddening world. The society is collapsing. Sometimes in the middle of the night I wondered if I'd done bad things. Every minute, innocent children like you died unjustly, while I laughed out a joke with my colleagues.
I dream about my future, to be married, to be rich, to learn more at graduate schools... while a lot of young adults like me, there, in the genocide-filled cities lost their parents, their family. Perhaps they couldn't even dream about the career path they could take - for they couldn't even drink enough water everyday. Falling in love, even, would be such a privilege to them they're afraid to take.
Here, I have a nice family, a nice house, a nice job, and I can still learn more about what I want, I can earn money, I can buy street foods I like. My younger years excited to take a chance to fall in love, to seek the presence of your father... But I feel miserable. Am I allowed to take these, while my bombed peers lost their lives?
The world is in such a turmoil, my darlings, I wish you wouldn't see it in your time.
Other than praying and asking people to act together to make a chance, I feel helpless. I'm not in control over important things in this world. But again, neither do those hypocrite leaders who sold their brothers to fill their already full stomachs.
The true leader of this world is Him, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. It's easy for Him to switch the hypocrites with better people who uphold His law. As a khalifa on earth.
A khalifa, that is, won't put his ego first. Khalifas won't think laws they made are better than His law!
If people understand that, and try to uphold it, I think it would be just a matter of time for Allah to switch this condition.
Sadly, most people don't.
So why would Allah change a hypocrite with another hypocrite? (And I'm also a hypocrite, I'm also a sinner. And I'm trying to fix that, for Him, for you, and for a better world in the future).
People out there are shouting out loud how Allah has failed them.
But it's not Allah who fails the world... It's them.
It's the greed of people, the khawf or fear towards wrong beings, the bondage of thoughts... All of those are tying this society and pull them to a dark abyss.
I'd just be upfront with you, okay...
It's the secularism that prevents us to use Allah's law, which actually is much better than those trashes, but instead people call it 'utopian'.
Well, then let them drown in the misery of capitalism, which is just another development of secularism in economy. Let them sink into 9 to 5 for wages that can't even get their children to the low-tier private schools! Let them sink in taxes and find solace in the usury loan which they'd pay in installments every month!
It's the pragmatism, and apathy, and stoicism that keep them from thinking it's okay for the world to collapse as long as it's not them! As long as they can breath, eat, and cafe-hopping every Saturday night with their loved ones. While those monsters keep on bombing, until just in a matter of time it would be their land they're bombing!
Dear children, I don't want you to understand me.
I only want you to understand the world, and to understand the true path on saving the world.
It's not a task by me for you to save the world. It's a task by your qalb, the deepest path inside your heart. And in that qalb, Allah has entrusted kindness in every human to walk on the right path. Whoever seeks the true meaning in their qalb would eventually stand with Islam, according to their innate nature. Fighting that innate nature, perhaps would make you temporarily happy. But trust me, where do you think it's gonna lead you to?
I'm not pushing you to hold the highest position to save this world. I just wish you to save this world, no matter what your position is, as long as you save the world, there wouldn't any small seed of good deed that won't be rewarded.
And later, my darlings, it wouldn't be me rewarding you... It's Allah, al-Malik.
He who have the entire world. And I pray that you would be al-Muttaqiin, you would stand with al-Mujaddid, and live in a better world where you and your peers would pray for each other for His blessings.
Aamiin.
Thanks for reading your mother's letter.

Bekasi,
October 13th, 2024 - one year and some days after October 7th, 2023 and 40 thousands people killed in Ghazzah.
*And with that, my darlings, your fight shouldn't be fueled only with emotions. 'Cuz that feelings only last temporarily. I want you to fight with your rationality and hope, that Islam is better than any other law in this world to bring peace for everybody around you, whether they're Muslims or not yet one of us. To bring justice. And to bring graces from Allah.
